This year’s team excursion was not only a lot of fun, but also offered some amazing views. We took off on bus from Basel to Locarno on Lake Maggiore in Italian Switzerland for an afternoon of hiking and then team-building games on the shore of the lake.
In the middle of winter with precious little sun, though the days are short, the cold and grey can make time seem to drag on. We were grateful this year for some beautiful snow to change the bleak days to a white wonder.
I love trains and have written before about how I have been long fascinated by them. We kicked off a long weekend at the Cité du Train, the largest railway museum in Europe before heading to Zermatt to catch the Glacier Express to marvel at vistas of mountain peaks, alpine meadows, sapphire blue rivers and lakes, and of course glaciers.
I have mentioned before how important it is when living abroad to always agree to join in in anything local. Therefore when our friends David and Louisa asked us the other day if we were going to join in the local Banntag celebrations, we of course said yes.
We are always excited to host guests and we were happy to receive Elise’s high school classmate, Israel, for an extended weekend. Since we had been to Wasserfallen in the autumn, we thought we should head back now that it is spring.
