Knockando
18 Year (matured in sherry oak)

I am a person who really likes sweet malts in the Summer and smokey malts in the winter. Call me seasonal. However tonight I am enjoying a Knockando, which is somewhat different for me in its peatiness without smokiness. It is full-bodied, but not heavy (often with smoke) like some of my favorites from Islay for instance. It takes some time for me to pick out the flavors, but the first thing that hits you is a fruitiness (probably from the sherry casks), but also a note of almond. But its yonger, more bitter almond. In the end, it is very smooth and leaves a sweet coating on the palette. Perfect for after dinner.
